2004 Ford Freestar SEL This has a 4.2L V6 making only 201 HP while its paired to a 4 Speed Auto. I've driven Lots of these vans and the ride is not bad. But the Engines are so down in power. They are not fast vans but they have lots Torque, The most of any MiniVan out there believe it or not. The interior wasnt so great with lots of hard & rough surfaces, many plastics trims, pieces, & components that are prone to break easily. The biggest problem with these vans is the Torque Converter which had a high failing rate. Many continue driving the vans not knowing the Torque Converter is failing & as a result end up damaging the transmission or could simply be left stuck if it ever completely fails. Many failed before the 40K mile mark and others before reaching 100K. This 1 has made it 155K with the stock Converter but it definitely screamed screwed when I revved it. This Torque Converter issues also Followed onto the Mercury Monterey which is essentially the same Van only with Mercury Badges on it.
