I've been having some acceleration issues with my '97 T-Bird LX (4.6L V8). Any time you punch the gas and try to gun it, the engine jerks and hesitates like crazy, whether you're taking off or whether you're merely trying to give it more juice while it's in motion (and that's at any speed). You have to creep up on the gas in order to get it to not jerk. Just had the fuel filter replaced, and it fixed the problem for a grand total of 10 minutes. Really not sure what's going on. I don't know much about auto mechanics just yet. It's a good running car otherwise, but this is extremely annoying, and makes it difficult to drive normally (merging on the freeway is a you-know-what).
