This is the first year for this body style...note the 4 door model with the rear "suicide" doors. A two door version was also produced. This is a BIG car..and Ford at the time evidently interpreted a personal car as a BIG car! Note the vinyl roof..and the rear door opened into it...an unusual arrangement. The front headlights were concealed. This was evidently the next step in making Thunderbird a luxury model. It still retained many of the "aircraft" features of the earlier models.
